Nursing aids are an integral part of the hospice family, aids are certified care takers that provide support to the patient to make sure the patient is clean, comfortable and well taken care of. Nursing aids also serve as a valuable resource to the family because they can assist you with many of the activities required for providing care. Services provided by nursing aides are determined by the patients and families needs and can change as the needs do. Services include but are not limited to: Assistance with personal hygiene: such as bathing, shampoo, oral care. Assistance with walking and range of motion activities, help with using the bathroom, commode or bedpan. Special services are provided for bedridden patients to ensure comfort and minimal disruption during bed linen change, diaper change and personal hygiene care.
