G-Tube and NG-Tube Care
Maximum Care Hospice provides skilled, compassionate care for patients with gastrostomy (G-tube) and nasogastric (NG-tube) feeding tubes. Our licensed nurses manage tube site cleanliness, monitor for signs of infection or discomfort, and ensure safe administration of nutrition, hydration, and medications. We educate caregivers on proper flushing techniques, positioning, and troubleshooting, while supplying all necessary materials to support comfort and dignity at home or in a facility. Every care plan is tailored to the patient’s condition and goals of care.
At the home setting the family/patient will have the option of choosing between 3 types of feeding:
Syringe Bolus feeding : Formula is pushed slowly by hand through a syringe.
Gravity Bag Feeding : Formula is poured in a gravity bag, hung on an IV pole, feeding rate is set and gravity allows for the formula to flow through the bag into the tube.
Pump Feeding: A pump is connected to the Feeding bag and parameters are set on the pump and it continuous to work 24/7 or as preset.
* Consult with your provider what is the best option for you.
