Palliative Care at Home:
Palliative care at home focuses on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and their family while still having the option for invasive and curative treatment.
Palliative care is considered a bridge program between Home Health Care and Hospice Care and both Home Health and Hospice providers are able to provide palliative care. While the program is effective there is not always a clear payer for the services and depending on the persons insurance coverage may vary significantly from patient to patient. In some cases the hospice or home health agency can provide Palliative Care on a private pay basis but can always vary from provider to provider.
